Jackson Lake is in the Grand Teton National Park 30 miles north from Jackson, WY just south of Yelowstone National Park. The lake is accessible all year round with a maximum depth of 438ft and 40 miles of shoreline.
Snake River Snake River is the largest tributary of the Columbia River at 1,078 miles long, and is the largest North American river that empties into the Pacific Ocean. Rising in western Wyoming, the river flows through southern Idaho, northeastern Oregon into Washington state where it enters into the Columbia. The Snake River Plain was created by a volcanic hotspot which now lies underneath Yellowstone National Park where the Snake River arises. In Wyoming the river flows south from Yellowstone through Jackson Lake, Grand Tetons, all along US-191 and US-89 to Hoback, down through Alpine.
